Ripple partner Airwallex completes $100 million funding at a valuation of $5.5 billion, with participation from Tencent and Sequoia Capital China
ChainCatcher news, Ripple partner and Australian fintech company Airwallex announced the completion of a new funding round of $100 million at a valuation of $5.5 billion. This round of financing was participated in by Tencent Holdings Limited, Sequoia Capital China, Lone Pine Capital, Australian Industry Superannuation Fund HostPlus, and a North American pension fund.
It is reported that Airwallex's total financing amount has exceeded $900 million. Airwallex allows customers to issue and pay international invoices and bills through its payment platform and joined the Ripple enterprise blockchain network RippleNet in 2017 to leverage the power of blockchain to modernize global payments. As part of RippleNet, the company is also adopting commercial blockchain to provide its customers with a unique global payment experience.
