Diverse cultures, ideas, and technologies converge in the blockchain world, sparking brilliant ideas and creating new opportunities for the flourishing development of the Web 3.0 field. As a top university, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is committed to exploring cutting-edge technologies and leading the trends of the digital age.

In August 2022, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology announced the establishment of the world's first physical-digital twin campus in the metaverse and will collaborate with various institutions to actively promote the construction of the metaverse campus. Professor Wang Yang, Vice President of HKUST, stated: "The physical and virtual worlds are rapidly merging. I believe that in this Web 3.0 era, which will undoubtedly disrupt the future, Hong Kong possesses all the elements for development and alignment. HKUST is the first university in the world to establish a physical-digital twin campus, and we are ready to lead the creation of a sustainable XR ecosystem to promote research and learning.

This online and offline interaction not only facilitates the true integration of the two campuses under the framework of 'HKUST as one, dual campuses complementing each other' but also helps bring the developmental potential of the metaverse into education." In such an open and supportive environment, the Blockchain Center at HKUST has attracted numerous blockchain experts and enthusiasts, fostering the birth of several decentralized projects, which have collectively received over HKD 120 million in investments.

As a public welfare organization initiated by the HKUST Blockchain Lab, Blockchain Academy gathers the most forward-looking technological vision and top-notch teaching resources, while also shouldering the important mission of disseminating Web 3.0 knowledge. The users targeted by Blockchain Academy are not limited by geography or age; anyone who wishes to enter the world of Web 3.0 can become an audience member of Blockchain Academy, learning the basic concepts, practical skills, and thought patterns of the crypto world.

BuidlCamp, as the first educational event of Blockchain Academy, not only covers popular topics in blockchain technology in its curriculum and guest invitations but also breaks the framework of traditional training camps by introducing elements such as competitions and job opportunities, making the training structure more three-dimensional and complete while emphasizing practical skill application.

From an overview of the blockchain world to ecosystems in different languages, and deeper technical teaching, a team of elite professionals and professors from the Web 3.0 industry will guide participants through the full scope of the Web 3.0 world, presenting rich professional knowledge. The second phase of the Moonshot Web3 Winter Hackathon is co-hosted by Blockchain Academy, HKUST Crypto-Fintech Lab, and Moonshot Commons, providing participants with opportunities to practice what they have learned and a platform for direct communication with Web 3.0 practitioners, allowing them to have a more comprehensive understanding of their project ideas and even bring them to reality.

To provide participants with more career opportunities and supply quality talent to the blockchain industry, BuidlCamp will also hold a job fair, allowing participants to embark on their own Web 3.0 journey.

Since its inception, BuidlCamp has garnered continuous attention from numerous domestic and international universities and blockchain organizations. As the coverage of participating institutions and regions continues to expand, more individuals interested in understanding Web 3.0 and blockchain will join BuidlCamp and become builders of the future in the Web 3.0 world.
