The Ethereum account abstraction proposal EIP-4337, co-initiated by Vitalik, adds signature aggregation, which can reduce data costs for rollups
Chain Catcher news, Vitalik Buterin tweeted that the Ethereum account abstraction proposal EIP-4337, which he co-initiated in September 2021, has recently released a new version that adds signature aggregation, including the BLS signature algorithm. The signature aggregation feature allows builders and batch submitters to also aggregate signatures (such as BLS, SNARKs), significantly reducing on-chain data.
Vitalik stated that ERC-4337 provides something truly valuable and necessary for account abstraction, offering a "decentralized fee market" for users operating with smart contract wallets. "We are slowly and precisely realizing the practical path of account abstraction, and the newly added signature aggregation feature in this release can lower data costs for rollups, which will also become one of the motivations for adopting ERC-4337."
It is reported that account abstraction effectively reduces complexity and improves efficiency by omitting unnecessary details in the Ethereum account system (eliminating the need for EOAs and special handling of smart contract wallets). (Source link)
