Moonbeam ecosystem says: Get closer to the staking database of Web3Go
Source: Moonbeam Network
Xing: Hello everyone, I am your host Xing tonight, a Senior Ambassador of Moonbeam, and a core member of the Bitcoin and 8848 communities. I have been supporting Moonbeam for over a year and really appreciate the project team and community culture. I hope to accompany everyone in the growth of Moonbeam. Here is my Twitter, feel free to connect with me.
"Moonbeam Ecosystem Talk" is a community AMA event organized by the Moonbeam Chinese enthusiasts community in collaboration with the Moonbeam Chinese Senior Ambassadors. This event provides project teams that have deployed on Moonriver or Moonbeam an opportunity to introduce their project information within the mainstream unofficial Chinese community of Moonbeam.
This includes: project introduction, team introduction, technical advantages, etc., helping Moonbeam enthusiasts in the community quickly understand the quality projects active in the Moonbeam ecosystem. Today's Moonbeam Ecosystem Talk is co-hosted by Web3Go and the Moonbeam Chinese community. The theme is Getting to Know Web3Go's Staking Database.
Before we start, let me briefly introduce Web3Go.
Web3Go is an open data analysis platform focused on classifying, visualizing, sharing, and collaboratively analyzing data generated within the Polkadot ecosystem.
This event will be divided into three segments:
1) Guests answer pre-collected basic questions
2) Questions drawn from the Twitter pre-heating activity
3) Guests answer community's free questions in real-time / quick Q&A
Today's guest is Hao, the founder of Web3Go.
Hao:
Hi, everyone, I have been lurking in the Moonbeam community for a long time, and I am an old friend of yours.
Xing:
1. Please briefly introduce yourself and the Web3Go team. For example, what problems does the project mainly solve, and what is the team's background?
Hao:
Hello everyone, let me introduce Web3Go: Web3Go is currently the only data analysis platform in the Polkadot ecosystem. Some of our team members are in China, while others are in Germany. The original intention of developing Web3Go was that we found there was no place in the Polkadot ecosystem where community users could intuitively know what was happening in the Polkadot world.
Taking advantage of the slot auction event that started in October last year, we began developing a data dashboard for Polkadot parachain auction crowdfunding, which some of you may have used.
This data dashboard allows users to see the donations and bidding status of each parachain participating in the slot auction in real-time. We received initial recognition from the community through this small dashboard and also won some hackathon competition awards. Later, we continued to develop several subsequent dashboards, which everyone started using, and we are very happy about it.
Xing:
Cool~ I believe many friends are already familiar with this product~
2. We see that the Chinese enthusiasts community occasionally posts screenshots of Web3Go's data dashboard. What practical features does Web3Go's data dashboard offer for ordinary users?
Hao:
This question deserves a good discussion. We provide corresponding data dashboards for different parachains, each with its own characteristics. The goal is to solve the data visualization problem on each parachain. For Moonbeam and Moonriver, we provide two staking data dashboards, which can help users find the collector nodes with the highest APR.
I believe everyone has started using them, and many friends have given us feedback, thank you very much! Additionally, there is a little tip: after connecting your wallet on the staking dashboard UI, you can subscribe to notifications for collector nodes you are interested in. If a collector node is about to drop out of the top 64, Web3Go will send an email reminder. I wonder if everyone has used this feature; it is actually very practical, so you can give it a try with the little plus sign.
Additionally, we developed an NFT tracking dashboard for the RMRK project. If you are an NFT enthusiast, you can see all NFT trading situations on RMRK here, including hotspots, prices, and other data that can help you make decisions when purchasing NFTs. We also developed a DeFi dashboard for the Karura DeFi project.
We developed collateral lending management, where you can see the positions of all users participating in collateral lending, and we designed some reminder functions to inform users whether their positions are being liquidated.
What I mentioned above is for the dashboards targeting various parachains. We are still continuing to develop and will add them one by one, including dashboards for projects like Astar, Acala, Bifrost, Clover, etc.
At the system level, we developed a dedicated data dashboard to record the parachain auction in real-time within the Polkadot ecosystem. It details the total donation amount, fundraising amount for each project, and the donation status of each user.
From the perspective of individual users, we provide a Profile function. You can enter your address to see your assets and on-chain activities in the Polkadot parachains. We have already added some public addresses, integrating the Polkadot identity module here.
In the input field below, you can randomly select a few points to check. Some are project addresses, and some are personal addresses. I recommend a personal address, which is Shawn Tabrizi, who is a core developer of Polkadot and has many assets, haha. Additionally, we provide some system-level monitoring. You can check it out here, I won't elaborate further.
Xing:
3. In the past few weeks, community users have noticed delays in the dashboard data. How can Web3Go ensure that its data keeps up with on-chain updates?
Hao:
Yes, this is indeed the issue, and I would like to take this opportunity to explain it to everyone. The delays occurred due to the full unlocking of the Take Flight community quota, concentrated on February 20 and 21, when on-chain activities were quite active, and the transaction volume on the Moonbeam mainnet surged, putting significant pressure on various RPC nodes. Everyone should have felt it at that time, which led to delays in our data synchronization with the nodes.
Later, the team urgently optimized the RPC synchronization nodes. After optimization, we observed that the overall app operation was still very smooth. Recently, we have not found any data delays or stuttering issues. We will continue to optimize in the future, so please rest assured that we will provide you with the best service.
Xing:
4. From a third-party analytical perspective, how would you evaluate the current staking participation and competitive status of collectors and delegators on Moonriver and Moonbeam?
Hao:
Hi, this question hits the nail on the head, let me elaborate. Before February 20, the participation of collectors and delegators was relatively stable, and the total staking amount of GLMR steadily increased and stabilized in the range of 30 million to 31 million. Wait a moment, let me take a screenshot:
As you can see, before the 250th round, the total staking amount was very stable. After the liquidity release on February 20, the staking amount increased by about 60% within 5 rounds, which is a very rapid increase, reaching how much? It reached 53 million! Note that this is within 5 rounds, and pay attention to the part I marked in red, which is a significant increment.
In the following half month, we experienced about 40 rounds, during which the staking amount steadily increased. As of now, we have reached the 290th round, can you guess?
How much has the staking amount reached? Let the picture speak, it is close to 70 million! You can see that the total staking has been very stable recently. The entire network is also quite stable. This is the overall situation. So what about the collectors? The competition among collectors during this round of liquidity release has been very fierce.
We found that the rankings and staking amounts of collectors before and after February 20 have changed significantly. Some old collector nodes were pushed out, and some new collectors joined in, gaining a lot of support from delegators. As of this round, we see that the competition among collectors is indeed very intense. Let the picture speak:
This is the real-time data of collectors now.
We see that, except for the first collector, the total staking amount has reached 1.8 million GLMR. The leading margin is very large, while the second, third, and fourth places are around 1.2 million. The remaining 60 collectors have total staking amounts around 1 million. Moreover, the differences are actually very small, with total staking amounts very close. A slight mistake could lead to being surpassed or even dropping out of the top 64. This is the situation for collectors.
Now let's look at the situation of delegators:
This chart shows the total number of all delegators in the last 20 rounds. You can see that the number of delegators is relatively stable, remaining around 11,000 in total. Finally, let's take a look at the reward situation. The top ten collectors receiving rewards are shown in the following chart:
We see that the first-ranked collector has received around 39,000 GLMR in system rewards. That's quite a lot. So how about the earnings situation of the delegators? Can everyone guess how much reward the first-ranked delegator has received in total?
Several whales have received very substantial rewards, far exceeding those of other delegators. The first-ranked delegator has actually received a total of 270,000 GLMR in rewards! The tenth-ranked has only received a total of 40,000 GLMR in rewards. Friends, how much reward have you received in total? You can connect your wallet on the Web3Go Moonbeam staking interface to check each reward you have received. All the data above comes from the Web3Go official website.
Xing:
5. What are the future upgrade plans for Web3Go? Does the project have any benchmark products or projects? What are the future development directions for on-chain data analysis?
Hao:
This question is a bit grand, so let me summarize. First, our major direction is to be based on Polkadot and face multi-chain. As you can see, the total number of dashboards we have is still quite small, and there are many projects on Moonbeam, including DeFi, NFT, games, etc. We will design and develop some dashboards for community users to use.
We are currently in development, so please wait a bit. Our team is relatively small and we are also in the process of fundraising, hoping to expand the team. In the near future, we will conduct data dashboard development work for several active parachains.
Currently, we do not have many benchmark products within the Polkadot ecosystem because we are the only team doing on-chain data analysis. I believe that future on-chain data analysis products must focus on doing the product itself well, so that everyone can use it. That's why I am lurking in the Moonbeam community every day, gathering everyone's needs. That's about it for now.
Xing:
6. If someone wants to learn about the latest information on Web3Go, what channels are available?
Hao:
The most direct way is to visit the official website, where you will find the latest developed dashboards. The official Twitter will have some news and data analysis updates. Joining the official Telegram group allows you to directly provide feedback on product needs and issues. Additionally, you can message me directly; I am in the group. You can give direct feedback.
Xing:
We have finished the questions for the first segment, and now we will enter the second segment. We have drawn two exciting questions from the comments on the event Twitter. The first question is from Twitter user @Jane38874093:
What is the difference between Web3Go and Subquery, which also does data indexing in the Polkadot ecosystem?
Hao:
That's a great question. The questioner must be very concerned about the development of the Polkadot ecosystem. Here, I would like to use a diagram to explain our relationship with Subquery. Please take a look at this diagram:
I personally divide the blockchain data track into three layers from the bottom up. The bottom layer is the data indexing layer, which is mainly used to store on-chain data. This layer is mainly aimed at developers, and the indexing tool on Ethereum that corresponds to the Polkadot ecosystem is TheGraph, which has also begun to support multi-chain, including support for Near.
The middle layer is the data service layer, which provides a user-friendly interface for users to browse blockchain data. The most typical example is the blockchain explorer. In the Polkadot ecosystem, we have Subscan; correspondingly, Ethereum has Etherscan, and BSC has Bscscan. Products in this layer can help users clearly browse all blockchain data, but with so much data, what does it mean behind it? What market sentiment does it reflect, and where are the market hotspots?
These indicators are actually quite difficult to obtain in this layer, so the middle data service layer mainly provides facts, leaving the analysis to the users themselves. To analyze this data, one needs very professional blockchain and statistical knowledge. The top layer is the data analysis layer.
I believe everyone is familiar with several products in Ethereum, such as Debank, which is used to manage DeFi assets; Dune-Analytics allows community users to create dashboards themselves. These products not only provide facts but also provide "insights" — that is, analysis results processed from raw data; these results are very helpful for users to understand.
At this point, everyone should have a clearer understanding. The product form of Web3Go is basically at the data analysis layer, aimed at end users, providing data analysis results to help everyone understand what is happening on-chain, while Subquery mainly targets developers. Subquery and Web3Go are strategic partners, and we will work together to build data products for the Polkadot ecosystem.
Xing:
The second question is from Twitter user @SherryC09:
There are already some relatively mature analysis platforms in the market. How will Web3Go differentiate itself to stand out?
Hao:
This question is very sharp, making me feel like I am facing investors. Indeed, there are many data analysis products in the market, such as Debank, Nansen, Dune-Analytics, and Defillama, which have already gained recognition from users and the industry.
These data analysis projects are the benchmarks we strive to catch up with. First, from an ecosystem perspective, Web3Go is currently rooted in Polkadot. One advantage for us is that Web3Go is currently the only data analysis product in the Polkadot ecosystem.
As far as I know, there are no similar products, which gives Web3Go a significant time and space advantage. From a product perspective, we will draw on the already mature products on Ethereum and use micro-innovations to adapt dashboards that fit user habits to Polkadot, mainly focusing on areas such as DeFi, NFT, and Token Flow.
Several dashboards we have released, including those used to track RMRK NFT trading situations and collateral lending positions on Karura, have already been used by community users.
Additionally, Web3Go will focus on unique events within the Polkadot ecosystem, such as Crowdloan and Staking. These are applicable to every parachain project, and we hope to solidify these two dashboards as the biggest entry points to attract Polkadot users. I wonder if you have noticed that we have a section called Profile.
Here, you can enter your Polkadot address (any parachain address, we will automatically convert it) to see all your activity records in the Polkadot ecosystem, including assets on each parachain, participation in crowdloans and DeFi, and NFTs held. In the future, our products will become more diversified, including Polkadot identity, badges, NFTs, and other data-based gameplay.
The ultimate goal is to provide tools that allow everyone to create their own dashboards. Through sharing and using dashboards, developers and owners of the dashboards can earn rewards. This is the final step towards decentralization, so everyone can look forward to it; there will be many fun things. Whoever owns the data owns the world :)
Below is the live Q&A:
@shaubow Can you develop a feature to detect Polkadot transactions over 5 million dollars?
Hao: There is one; you can take a look. It records all transaction information, and there is a leaderboard.
@meta id.nft
Hello, when using Web3Go on mobile, it needs to be viewed horizontally; the vertical view does not display the page completely. Will the team consider optimizing the mobile vertical information page?
Hao: We need to optimize it, but the team is small and lacks funds, so we will take it slow. For now, please use a PC with a large screen; it looks great, haha.
@Akira Will Web3Go support public chains outside of Polkadot?
Hao: Yes, we are currently developing a browser for Near, and we have also started working on EVM.
@7obu Can you develop a feature to query the amount of tokens released and the amount of tokens unbonded in the Polkadot ecosystem?
Hao: Are you referring to each token? That’s a good point; I think we can consider adding it. Currently, we do not have this feature; you can check CoinMarketCap for now.
