Even if they miss the initial airdrop, new users still have the opportunity to receive a total of 250,000 BRIGHT tokens as a reward.

On September 16, the Ethereum digital identity verification system BrightID announced the issuance of the token BRIGHT, with a total supply of 100 million tokens and an initial minting amount of 25 million tokens, of which 6.85 million tokens are allocated for a retroactive airdrop to reward past BrightID users.

Recently, the digital identity sector has garnered increasing attention. BrightID is a digital identity verification system based on the Ethereum ecosystem, which addresses the unique identity problem by creating and analyzing social graphs. Users can obtain a digital identity through real-person video verification. Use cases include identity verification, application user validation, event validation (such as airdrops), trust, and reputation building.

Currently, multiple projects such as Gitcoin, RabbitHole, and Status have adopted its solutions, with over 30,000 users verified, and it has received recognition from Vitalik multiple times.

As one of the earlier projects in the digital identity sector to issue tokens, what actions will BrightID take next? How will it further promote its vision?

According to information disclosed by BrightID, its decentralized autonomous organization BrightDAO will be one of the key focuses, receiving 40% of the initial BRIGHT issuance, which amounts to 25 million BRIGHT. Subsequently, it can mint up to 10 million BRIGHT each year, with a maximum total of 75 million BRIGHT.

The organization is supported by technology from 1Hive Gardens and Aragon. DAO members will take on roles such as verification assistants, "anti-witch" researchers (referring to witch attacks, which aim to undermine the reputation system of network services by creating numerous fake identities), and user experience specialists, to create a participatory community-driven economy powered by the BRIGHT token, supporting, developing, and adopting the BrightID social identity network.

"BrightDAO is a community of thinkers and doers who come together to support and develop BrightID, an application and network that can create a socially managed graph that can be analyzed to increase the witch resistance of all projects that choose to use it. The more projects and individuals that use BrightID, the more refined and robust the graph becomes—opening up new ways to discover and exclude malicious users, creating a world where people can experience fairer and more equal opportunities," BrightID stated.

In the future, any user holding a certain amount of BRIGHT tokens can submit proposals to fund anything that helps BrightID become a privacy-protecting, decentralized identity network that resists witch attacks, or to fund the integration of BRIGHT tokens.

It is worth noting that although BrightDAO has allocated 6.85 million BRIGHT to reward historical users, it also stated that it will set aside 250,000 BRIGHT to reward subsequent users. Members who join the community after the initial airdrop can earn token rewards by completing specified community tasks, such as connecting with BrightID and linking applications to their BrightID. Other reward activities will include launching bug bounties and hackathons, as well as token liquidity mining, among others.
