AC complains again: I have 4 new products, but I'm afraid to release them
This article is from YFI founder Andre Cronje's blog and translated by Chain Catcher.
This is a stranger perspective than I had before, so it may be a bit incoherent.
In this market, everyone is right, and no one is wrong; trying to be the "right" product is meaningless.
In this market, when scams increase in value as much (or even more) than legitimate projects, developers lose motivation.
In this market, it makes no sense to launch products without tokens; you can't attract funding, build a community of contributors, and the product cannot sustain itself.
In this market, if you don't issue a token, anonymous teams will fork your code within 24 hours and issue a token. Then, you will be told that the forked project is much better than your own work.
This market rewards scammers and copycats.
I have had this conversation more times than I can imagine, where "investors" tell me they invested in a project they 100% know is a scam, and they comment, "Oh, but we don't publicly mention or support them," they argue that "the funding allocation will be filled anyway, we won't say no to free money."
This is the state of the market that supports scams because it is seen as "free money." Innovation is stifled because innovators are too afraid to issue tokens, or they are forced to release tokens, and then they need to focus 99% of their time on the token instead of the product.
I know traders and investors have a saying: "Do you want to get rich, or do you want to do the right thing?" I never understood this saying, but I finally get it. Unfortunately, I wish I were wrong.
What frustrates me is that I have 4 newly completed products, but I am so scared that I don't dare to launch any of them because I know they will be quickly forked and tokens will be issued. I don't think I'm the only one. We are starting to see copyright and commercial licensing begin to take effect.
Bull markets trigger bear market developments. Bear markets trigger bull market developments.
As I said, this is not a real perspective; this is a stranger perspective. I just wanted to write it down.
